The Higher Population Council (HPC) and Share-Net Jordan kicked off a three-day training workshop on Tuesday on project proposal writing skills to attract funding. Held with with funding support from Share-Net International, the workshop was attended by representatives of government institutions, public and private Jordanian universities, civil society institutions, and HPC staff members.

HPC senior researcher, Ghaleb Al Azzeh, noted at the workshop that HPC is always keen to implement such trainings that aim to enhance national capacities to benefit from research and program grants offered by donors, and increase the competitiveness of national institutions globally to attract funding for research projects and programs that serve national goals and the sustainable development goals.

Azzeh added that the workshop, which will be delivered by a national expert, will enhance participants’ skills in writing effective project proposals and avoiding mistakes that grant applicants may make.

HP is implementing a project with funding support from Share-Net International with the aim of establishing an interactive online platform for sexual and reproductive health research in partnership with stakeholders from different sectors, facilitating knowledge creation and dissemination in this field, and building the capacity of key stakeholders in identifying knowledge gaps in sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights. Through this project, Dutch institutions provide grants for studies and research carried out in Jordan by accredited research centers.
