University of Science and Technology Holds Introductory Workshop on Darby E-Platform
Irbid, Jordan – The Faculty of Nursing at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) organized an introductory workshop on the "Darby" e-platform on Thursday, April 25th, 2024. The workshop was presented by Assistant Secretary-General of the Higher Population Council (HPC) Ms. Rania Al-Abbadi and attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Prof. Laila Akhu Zaheya,  faculty, administrative staff, and students.
The workshop addressed the platform's objectives and components and its role in raising awareness among all members of society, especially youth, about reproductive health issues and correcting misconceptions related to reproductive health.
The platform, established by the HPC with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), aims to raise awareness among community members, especially youth, and improve their reproductive health by providing comprehensive information and data.
Prof. Akhu Zaheya welcomed the attendees, highlighting the importance of this platform, the first of its kind in the Arab world regarding concept and application, primarily as it is based on communicating with users through advanced and secure scientific and technological studies.
Ms. Al-Abbadi stressed that the platform is a safe technical refuge for people who want to inquire about questions related to reproductive health without embarrassment or hesitation, as these questions received by the platform go through confidential follow-up stages that guarantee the user's right to obtain the correct answer personally and confidentially. She explained that users can access the Darby platform website, browse what they want, and choose the "Questions and Answers" icon, which allows them to send any inquiries about reproductive health and receive answers.
At the end of the workshop, which included a presentation about the platform and an interactive play entitled "Imaginary Barriers" by actors from the National Center for Culture and Arts, the attendees' questions and inquiries were answered
